All-American Comics magazine were published from April 1939 to October 1948 (102 issues). The publisher were All-American Publications. Artists were including Ross Andru, Alex Toth, Gene Colan, Mort Drucker, Mike Esposito, Joe Kubert and Irv Novick. After that has appeared many one-shots and crossovers under the same title.
Characters who first appeared in All-American Comics were including Green Lantern (All-American Comics #16), the Atom (All-American Comics #19), Ultra-Man (All-American Comics #8), Red Tornado (All-American Comics #3), Doctor Mid-Nite (All-American Comics #25) and Sargon the Sorcerer (All-American Comics #26). Some newspaper strips were also published, like Hop Harrigan, Toonerville Folks, Scribbly, Mutt and Jeff and Ripley's Believe It or Not!
Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein took Jerry Grandenetti's icon from the cover of All-American Men of War #89 (Feb. 1962) to his famous painting Whaam!
