Captain America by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon

Jack Kirby and Joe Simon created Captain America for Timely Comics in 1941. Character first appeared in Captain America Comics #1, 1941. Later Timely become to Marvel Comics. Captain America #600 came in 2009, and Captain America Reborn series started.

In the cover of the first issue Captain America hits Adolf Hitler in the jaw. Comic book sold allmost million copies. Nowadays it is one of the most valuable comic books, aproximately 120,000 USD in near mint condition.

One of the best Captain America story (Captain America #251-252, art by John Byrne, 1980) Batroc the Leaper (Tales of Suspense #75, 1966) and Mr. Hyde (Journey into Mystery #99, 1963) blackmails the city of New York with a hijacked Roxxon super-tanker, attempt to destroy the entire city.

Captain America is the national hero and icon of the American patriotism. His real name is Steve Rogers. United States Coverment gave him a serum, which made him a supersoldier. Captain America's shield is made unbrakeable metal, adamantium. Later he came the leader of the Avengers (team debuted in The Avengers #1, 1963). Captain America's sidekick was young boy called Bucky, and after him Golden Girl (Captain America Comics #66, 1947)

During the war Captain America and Bucky fought against the Nazis and Japanese. Red Skull appeared in Captain America Comics #7, 1941. Red Skull is Nazi, and after the war his third incarnation was a communist. Red Skull loaned his face from the famous Japanese laterna magica superhero Ogon Bat, created by Takeo Nagamatsu in 1930's.

In the 1950's Captain America's popularity faded, but he returned in The Avengers #4, 1964. Captain America found from the North Atlantic Ocean where he has spent decades frozen in to a iceblock. After the war Captain America fought against neo-fascists, communists and terrorists.

Neo-Nazi organization HYDRA appeared in Strange Tales #135, 1965 and it's most famous leader Baron Wolfgang von Strucker in Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos #5, 1964). Both are created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Madame Hydra (Captain America #110, 1969) has been the leader of HYDRA, The Hand and Hellfire Club (enemy of the X-Men).

Other Captain America's enemies are Adolf Hitler-clone Hate-Monger (first appeared in Fantastic Four #21, 1962), weird Arnim Zola (Captain America #208, 1977) bag-headed Awesome Andy (Fantastic Four #15, 1963) creation of the Mad Thinker, Nazi Party scientist Baron Heinrich Zemo (The Avengers #6, 1964) and Baron Helmut Zemo (Captain America #168, 1973)

After the Marvel Civil War (2006-2007) the sniper shots Captain America to death in the stairs of the federal courthouse. The Death of Captain America by Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting appeared in Captain America vol. 5 #25 - #42 in 2007-2008. After it came 5 issue miniseries Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America (2007) by Jeph Loeb, Leinil Yu and John Romita Jr. (etc.)

After the death of the Steve Rogers Bucky Barnes enters the big boots of Captain America in Captain America #49, 2009 and Captain America #50, 2009 by Ed Brubaker and Luke Ross. Captain America Comics 70th Anniversary Special #1 appeared in 2009, written by James Robinson and art by Marcos Martin. Story shows the childhood of living legend (now dead legend). Extra is classic Captain America story from the Golden Age by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby.

First Captain America movie came in 1944, starred by Dick Purcell. In the year 1990 movie Captain America was played Matt Salinger and Scott Paulin was The Red Skull. 1979 TV film Captain America was played Reb Brown. The First Avenger: Captain America by the director Joe Johnston premiere is in 2011. The Avengers movie comes at 2011, starring Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury).
