Alice's Adventures in Wonderland childrens book appeared in 1865. Novel is written by English author Lewis Carroll (Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) and illustrated by John Tenniel. Sequel Through the Looking-Glass appeared in 1871. Most of the weird characters and funny happenings is from latter book.

Story has inspider many comic artists. Some characters appears villains in Batman series, like The Mad Hatter and Tweedledum and Tweedledee. In Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth by Grant Morrison (Doom Patrol, X-Men) is set to mental institution, where patients has escaped and created Wonderland-alike world.

Alice in Wonderland animated film and TV series by Disney appeared in 1951. It has also made to video game, play and comic book series. Alice in Sunderland: An Entertainment graphic novel by Bryan Talbot (HellBlazer, The Tale of One Bad Rat) and Bryan Thomas appeared in 2007. Avengers Fairy Tales #3 by C.B. Cebulski and Takeshi Miyazawa sets Young Avengers into Wonderland.

Alice in Wonderland has also made lot of porn comic series. Most well known, and sophisticated, series are Lost Girls by Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie. The Umbrella Academy is written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, colors by Dave Stewart (familiar from Hellboy). Cover artist has been James Jean (familiar from Fables). Series started in September, 2007. The Umbrella Academy movie is planned to premiered in 2012.

Main characters are Sir Reginald Hargreeves, and children what he has created: 00.01 Spaceboy (Luther), 00.02 The Kraken (Diego), 00.03 The Rumor (Allison), 00.04 The Séance (Klaus), 0.05 The Boy, 00.06 The Horror (Ben) and 00.07 The White Violin (Vanya). The story is much like Thunderbirds in the world of Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol.

Amulet is a fantasy adventure comic book series created by Kazu Kibuishi. Amulet bows writers like Jeff Smith and Neil Gaiman. Series is published by Graphix. Graphix has published including Bone and Goosebumps.

Main characters are Emily and Navin Hayes, mechanical rabbit Miskit, and robots Morrie and Cogsley. Villains are The Elf King, Trellis and eight legged Arachnopods. Hayes family moves to a home of deceased great-grandfather. Big house seemed to be full of demons, robots and talking animals. In the first book twelve-years old Emily is trying to get a mystical Amulet with help of her little brother Navin. In the second book Emily and Navin heads to Kanalis, the fantastical city of waterfalls.

The Goon is created by Eric Powell. Series started in 1999, published by Avatar Press. After three issues Powell started to publish series on his own, under the Albatross Exploding Funny Books, in 2002. In 2003 publishing continued Dark Horse. The Goon is a horror comic series with zombies, vampires, rats and communists. The Goon movies are sceduled to 2010 and 2011. Producer is David Fincher and writer Eric Powell.
