Gambit is created by Chris Claremont, Jim Lee and Mike Collins. Character first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #266, August 1990. Actually Gambit was allready shortly seen in Uncanny X-Men Annual #14, 1990. Gambit real name is Remy LeBeau, but he has also appeared at the name Le Diable Blanc, Robert Lord and Ragin' Cajun. He has been the member of the X-Men, Marauders, Horsemen of Apocalypse, X-Treme X-Men (XSE), Thieves' Guild and Crimson Pirates.
Gambit comic book series has appeared in 1993-1994 (4 issues), 1997 (4 issues), 1998-2001 (25 issues) and 2004-2005 (12 issues). Publishing is planned to start again. Gambit is also appeared in mini-series Wolverine / Gambit (1995), Gambit and the X-Ternals (1995) and Bishop and Gambit (2001).
Gambit is appeared in X-Men animated series and in video games. In X-Men Origins: Wolverine Gambit was played by Taylor Kitsch. Gambit is very popular character in wallpapers and posters. Also is available Gambit resin statues and vinyl (PVC) figures, shirts, toys and HeroClix.
