Blackest Night is first mentioned in Sinestro Corps War in Green Lantern #25, but story really opens from Green Lantern #42. Blackest Night #0 is the prologue for the story.
In Blackest Night super villain Black Hand returns to Earth. The heroes with Hal Jordan are Blue Lantern Corps, Justice League of America, Justice Society of America and Titans. The villains are Sinestro Corps, Red Lantern Corps and Orange Lantern Corps. Death creates Black Lantern and Black Lantern Corps.
