Milo Manara (b. Sept. 12, 1945) is an Italian comic artist and illustrator. Manara is mostly known his erotic works, but he is also made a lot of other kind comics and cartoons.
With Neil Gaiman Manara has made Breakthrough in 1990 and one story to The Sandman: Endless Nights comic book in 2004. With Alejandro Jodorowsky Manara has made three issue comic book of the Italian house of Borgia: Borgia 1: Blood for the Pope (2004), Borgia 2: Power and Incest (2006) and Borgia 3: The Flames of the Pyre (2008). His works are gripping, thrilling creations. You will feel like you have just raced an amazing sports car, or won a casino on line game-- that's the kind of buzz that these unique stories give a real comic fan! If you cannot find Manara's stuff in your local comic store you can most likely order it online. It is definitely worth getting your hands on some!
Manara has made animation films and designed a helmet for Valentino Rossi for the MotoGP Mugello Italian GP, 2006. With Rossi Manara made comic book and DVD-project Quarantasei in 2006. Manara has made comic to Fellini (2004) and comics with Fellini: Trip to Tulum (Viaggio a Tulum) in 1989 and Il viaggio di G. Mastorna detto Fernet in 1992. Movie director Pedro Almodovar has written Manara's comic book La feu aux entrailles (1993). With italian cartoonist Hugo Pratt he has made Indian Summer (Tutto ricominciò con un'estate indiana) in 1983 and El Gaucho in 1991.
Manara's longest erotic comic series Click (Il gioco) is published in four comic book issues in 1983, 1991, 1994 and 2001. It has also made 4 episodes TV series in 1997. Other Manara's well know erotic comic books are Butterscotch (Il profumo dell'invisibile) in 1986, Hidden Camera (Candid camera) in 1988, Gulliveriana (I viaggi di Gulliver, o Gulliveriana) in 1995 and Manara's Kama Sutra in 1997.
