The Walking Dead is created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and artist Charlie Adlard. Comic series started in October 2003. CHEW detective adventure started in Walking Dead #61.
The Walking Dead basic composition is very Romeroan (Trilogy of the Dead films). Zombie apocalypse has striken to a world, and small bunch of survivors try to find the last place on Earth, where they could live in peace. The personalities of the characters are quite interesting, and changes with the story. The morbid atmosphere and despair sticks in to the reader - like a zombie.
Robert Kirkman has been making Marvel Zombies, and created superhero titled Invincible (first appeared in Tech Jacket #1, 2002) with the artist Cory Walker. Charlie Adlard has illustrated including Judge Dredd, The X-Files, The Hellfire Club, Batman: Gotham Knights and Green Lantern/Green Arrow. Tony Moore has made The Exterminators with Simon Oliver, Ghost Rider, The Punisher and Rob Zombie's Spookshow International.
