Richard Corben (b. Oct. 1, 1940) is an American comic artist, illustrator and animator. Corben made comics to French Métal Hurlant magazine, and Heavy Metal in U.S. Corben's one of the well known comic to Heavy Metal was pornographic fantasy adventure Den. In the story young nerd travels in to world of Neverwhere, and meets dangerous monsters, and naked muscleman and Amazon's. The story has also seen in one part of the animated film Heavy Metal in 1981.
Corben has made lot of graphic novels, Rip in Time (1986) with Bruce Jones, Vic and Blood (1987) with Harlan Ellison and Bigfoot (2005) with Rob Zombie and Steve Niles. Corben has illustrated many horror stories by Robert E. Howard (including Bloodstar, 1976), Edgar Allan Poe (The Fall of the House of Usher, 1989) and H.P. Lovecraft (Rats in the Walls, 1972).
For DC Comics Corben has made Swamp Thing, 8 pages story to Batman Black/White (1996) written by Jan Strnad, and John Constantine's adventures with Brian Azzarello (Hellblazer #147-#150) titled Hard Time (2000). For Marvel Comics Corben has made Punisher: The End (written by Garth Ennis) in 2004 and Ghost Rider (written by Daniel Way) in 2006.
