Captain Marvel first appeared in Whiz Comics #2, February 1940. Captain Marvel is created by C. C. Beck and Bill Parker. At the first Captain Marvel was published by Fawcett Comics (1939–1953) and later DC Comics (from 1972 to present). Magazines were titled including Marvel Family and Captain Marvel Adventures. Jack Kirby draw Captain Marvel to his younghood.
Captain Marvel uses magical word Shazam!, which gives him powers of King Salomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury. Other alliances of the Captain Marvel are Captain Thunder, Shazam and Marvel. The World's Mightiest Mortal, as they say.
Copyright lawsuit "National v. Fawcett" forced to changed to Marvelman or Miracleman in UK. In England Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman has written Marvelman/Miracleman comic series. Adventures of Captain Marvel TV series runned in 1941, starring Bill Parker and C. C. Beck.
