Superman the Man of Tomorrow

Superman is created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1932. First appearance of Superman was in Action Comics #1, 30 June 1938. That comic book is now most valuable comic book ever, worth by 317 200 USD (in auction 2009). Superman #1 comic book appeared in June 1939, and that issue is allmost as valuable too.

Superman's real name is Clark Kent and he is the member of Justice League of America (JLA). Other members in the Superman series are Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Supergirl, Superboy (More Fun Comics #101, 1945) and Krypto the Superdog (Adventure Comics #210 1955). Superman's Girl Friend Lois Lane comic book appeared in 1958-1974 and Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen published in 1954-1974. Wonder Woman and Batman adventures often with Superman.

The Death of Superman published in 1992. Super-Alien called Doomsday killed Superman, and it was reported in the world wide news. Superman came back in four diffirent incarnations: The Man of Steel, The Man of Tomorrow (or Cyborg Superman), The Metropolis Kid and The Last Son of Krypton. (Continues below.)

One of the best Superman stories is Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? by Alan Moore and Curt Swan. Story was published in Superman #423 and Action Comics #583, and also in hardcover DC Universe: The Stories of Alan Moore, 2006.

One of the Superman's secret headquarters is a Fortress of Solitude in Arctic, and it first appeared in Superman #17, and in this known form Action Comics #241. Superman history was relaunched by writer and artist John Byrne. First issue of new Superman was The Man of Steel #1, July 1986. Superman: Red Son 3 issue mini-series by Mark Millar and Dave Johnson published in 2003. The great story tells about what has happened if Superman was been dropped in the Soviet Union.

Superman is filmed many times. Superman (1978), Superman II (1980) and Superman III (1983) were starred by Christopher Reeve (b. 25 Sept. 1952, d. 10 Oct. 2004). In Bryan Singer's Superman Returns (2006) Superman was starred Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane) and Kevin Spacey (Lex Luthor). Next Superman movie is titled Superman Unleashed (working title Superman: Man of Steel). Premiere is in 2011.

Smallville TV series from Superman's youth started in 2001, starring Tom Welling (Clark Kent), Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan), Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang), Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor), Erica Durance (Lois Lane) and Justin Hartley (Oliver Queen).

Adventures of Superman TV series runned in 1951-1958, starring George Reeves. Reeves found shot to death at his home 1959. Later Superman actor Christopher Reeve paralyzed when he falled back of the horse. Does the role of Superman seem to be cursed?
