The Punisher: Skull in the Dark

The Punisher first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #129, February 1974. Charater is created by Gerry Conway, Ross Andru and John Romita Sr.

Frank Castle is a Vietman war veteran who avenges the death of his family. The Punisher War Journal appeared from 1988 to 1995 (80 issues). Vol. 2 started in January 2007. The Punisher War Zone published in 1992-1995, The Punisher Magazine appeared in 1989-1990 and The Punisher Armory started in 1990.

The Punisher is appeared in crossovers including with Ghost Rider and Wolverine (Hearts of Darkness, 1991), Captain America (Blood and Glory #1-#3, 1992), Spider-Man and Sabretooth (Designer Genes, 1993), Deadpool (Suicide Kings, 2010), Batman (Lake of Fire, 1994), Painkiller Jane (2001), Daredevil (Means and Ends: Marvel Knights #1-#6, 2005-2006), Bullseye (2006) and Witchblade (2007). The Punisher is also appeared in Marvel Knights: Double Shot, 2002 and Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness, 2007.

The first Punisher movie came 1989 starring Dolph Lundgren. 2004 The Punisher movie were starred by Thomas Jane (The Punisher) and John Travolta (Howard Saint). Director Lexi Alexander's 2008 The Punisher movie was starred by Ray Stevenson (The Punisher) and Dominic West (Jigsaw).

The Pummeler and Punish-Her are the parodies of The Punisher.
